Guys, we need to talk about Ashanti. We spotted her sporting a mesh ensemble not once, not twice, but three times in a row this week. Not only are we a little unsure as to why she can't stop sporting the sheer stuff in the middle of winter, but we're worried we might have to stage an intervention. On Sunday, we spotted her backstage at the NYFW Falguni & Shane Peacock fall show wearing a barely there Pocahontas-inspired ensemble by the designer. And when we say "barely there," we basically mean that she's wearing mostly mesh with strategically placed panels of patterned fabric. She accessorized with pointy-toe heels that we're 99.9 percent sure say "SEX" on them in all glitter. Yep. Also, we tried to imagine her sitting down in this dress and our minds exploded.

Left Behind centers on “a group of people struggling to survive in the aftermath of the rapture that has removed people of Christian faith from earth.”

Ciara, There was some stiff competition for the most revealing dress on the red carpet at the VMAs but RnB star Ciara was certainly up there with the most risque. The 27-year-old looked beautiful in a jewelled and feathered dress that was otherwise almost completely sheer. The design had a Brazilian carnival feel to it as well as elements of the Indian sub-continent.

At the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, celebs ditched the wild outfits and instead opted for gorgeous Grammy-ready gowns.

Leading the pack of elegant stars? Taylor Swift . The star was simply stunning in a plunging Herve Leger by Max Azria gown. She completed her retro look with finger curls and her signature sassy red lip.

Equally as beautiful in navy was her bestie Selena Gomez (think they planned to wear the same color?), who for the second big event in a row opted for a thigh high split. This time her Atelier Versace gown only had one split but the top had an exposed bustier, which added even more va-va-voom to her look.

Also going with a sheer effect, Ciara glowed in a Givenchy creation with perfectly placed crystal embellishments and a feather hemline. The dress even had built in gloves, which mayseem very familar to fashion fans.

These awe-inspiring looks had us begging for more, so we tapped celebrity stylist Nicole Chavez for additional insight. 

"This year's red carpet empitomized the art of fashion as a form of self-expression, fromKaty Perry expressing her wild and independent side in leopard to Selena Gomez expressing her sexy, mature side in her stunning illusion bodice gown. Gowns aside, there were a few pretty above-the-knee ensembles. Allison Williams was the definition of lovely in a white Valentino mini while Shailene Woodley proved the crop top can look lady-like by pairing it with a printed Emilio Pucci skirt.

Demi Lovato confirmed to star in new series of Glee

The 21-year-old singer-actor will appear in multiple episodes of the show's upcoming fifth season, her publicist confirmed Friday


Glee star Lea Michele tweeted Thursday that she was excited that two of her "very best friends" - Lovato and Broadway vet Phoebe Strole - would appear on the Fox show, and thanked creator Ryan Murphy for making it happen.

The show was recently hit by tragedy after star Cory Monteith died of a drug overdose. Monteith, 29, who was dating co-star Michele, was found dead last month in a Vancouver hotel room after overdosing on heroin and alcohol.

Lovato is in her second year as a mentor on The X Factor. She starred on the Disney Channel's Sonny With a Chance for two seasons.

The new season of Glee premieres September 26 in the US.

Demi Lovato Tweets About "Best Birthday Ever in Africa," Reveals What She Got (You'll Never Guess What It Is!)

Demi Lovato will always remember her 21st birthday.

Not only is this a milestone age for the X Factor judge, but the singer's special day was also an extra memorable celebration since she spent it in Africa. And it seems like she wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

"This trip has been such an amazing experience. Yesterday was the best birthday of my entire life!!!" Lovato tweeted on Wednesday, with a photo of herself and a birthday cake full of candles.

"This place is absolutely incredible. I'm so in love with Kenya. I'm so sad I'm leaving....," the star continued, and then revealed her eccentric birthday gift. "Btw... No big deal or anything but... One of Maasai communities gave me a GOAT for my birthday!!!!!! ...I named him billy," she wrote.

On Tuesday, the actual day of her birthday, Demi tweeted, "Thank you all for the birthday wishes!!! Having the best birthday ever in Africa with @freethechildren!!!," along with a picture of herself doing some manual labor.

The celeb traveled to Africa to do some charity work with Toronto-based youth organization Free the Children, but regardless of the distance, Lovato received some special b-day love from ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama.

"I've been so proud of the strength & commitment you've gained 4 life, keep inspiring us all!" the 33-year-old actor tweeted. "Happy birthday my @ddlovato! With & by u always."

So sweet.

Selena Gomez: I’m Proud Of Demi Lovato

Selena Gomez is really proud of her close friend Demi Lovato. The former Wizards of Waverly Place star said she admires the singer for overcoming her recent problems. The X Factor judge has reportedly struggled to keep her bipolar and eating disorders in check. Gomez said she was proud of Lovato for recently opening up about her issues.

“I’m very proud of Demi and her being able to accept the challenges she went through, but also for staying a good role model to people who do struggle with the things that she’s gone through,” Selena Gomez recently explained during an interview with i-D magazine. She continued, “I’ve always been taught that you are who you surround yourself with. So if you surround yourself with good positive people you can only do good things for them and they can only do good things for you.” Gomez stated that she relates to some of the problems Lovato was facing a few years back. When it comes to how the media portrays celebrities, the Getaway star said it can be frustrating to deal with the endless gossip. At the end of the day, she’s just a “normal girl living a normal life.” Lovato said the key to recovery is having people around that have your back. The X Factor judge said she counted Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus as very close friends. “I like to surround myself with people who understand where I am in my life and that have my best interests at heart. I feel like — especially with Nick [Jonas] — I feel like I can call him when I’m really struggling or whatever, and he’ll be there for me,” Lovato recently said. Demi Lovato will return for another season of the singing competition this September. Selena Gomez and Ethan Hawke’s action flick Getaway hits theaters on August 30.

 La película se estrenó en Japón el 17 de julio de 2010, ha sido la primera dirigida por Hiromasa Yonebayashi, un animador de Studio Ghibli, siendo la persona más joven en dirigir una película para Ghibli. El fundador de Ghibli, Hayao Miyazaki, supervisó la producción como planificador del desarrollo.

 En Koganei, Tokio occidental, se narra la historia de una familia de diminutos; pequeños seres, de apenas diez centímetros de estatura, que viven en una casita oculta bajo las tablas del suelo de una mansión campestre. Los diminutos tienen la norma de no dejarse ver nunca por los humanos; sin embargo, su tranquila existencia cambia cuando la joven Arrietty, una audaz adolescente, es vista accidentalmente por Shō, un niño que se acaba de establecer en la casa debido a su delicada salud que le lleva a necesitar un trasplante de corazón. Entre ambos surgirá una fuerte amistad, pero a la vez la existencia de los diminutos se verá peligrosamente amenazada.

 La película fue anunciada oficialmente en diciembre del 2009.⁷ El director, Hiromasa Yonebayashi, es uno de los directores más jóvenes en dirigir una película hecha para el cine del estudio. El guion de la película lo escribe Hayao Miyazaki, uno de los pilares fundamentales de Studio Ghibli, además en la escritura del guion colaboró Keiko Miwa que fue guionista también de otra película del estudio, Cuentos de Terramar.

Miyazaki quería producir la película "a su manera", consiste en realizar la película sin que los animadores sepan exactamente cómo acabará pero como Yonebayashi era debutante, Miyazaki prefirió realizar la película con un guion ya completo para evitar riesgos.

La adaptación del libro de Mary Norton es muy libre, al igual que otras producciones como Nicky, la aprendiz de bruja, El castillo ambulante o Cuentos de Terramar. La adaptación se centra en la relación entre el ser humano y la naturaleza siendo esto el sello del estudio. Toshio Suzuki comentó en la rueda de prensa de presentación oficial que Arrietty y el mundo de los diminutos llevaba estando en la cabeza de Hayao Miyazaki desde que éste tenía veinte años, fue la primera vez que leyó la novela, y que cuarenta años después fue cuando Miyazaki, desde su memoria, decidió escribir el guion.

La música de la película no fue compuesta por Joe Hisaishi, habitual compositor del estudio y creador de bandas sonoras como Nausicaä del Valle del Viento, Mi vecino Totoro, La princesa Mononoke, El viaje de Chihiro o Ponyo en el acantilado. En vez de a Hisaishi, la escogida fue la compositora francesa Cécile Corbel. Corbel es una gran amante de las películas de Ghibli y envió al estudio las canciones de su último disco comentando que las canciones que escribió estaban inspiradas en distintas películas que Ghibli había realizado. Esta carta y las canciones llegaron a manos de Toshio Suzuki y Hayao Miyazaki que decidieron que ella fuera la compositora. Además de ser la compositora de la obra en idioma original japonés, es la encargada de la adaptación de la música al inglés y al francés.
